The two founding directors of Sailung TriNetra are Nir Thapa and Claire Martin. Nir is from the village of Salme Khola, East Nepal and Claire is from Australia/England and now Nepal!

Sailung TriNetra is a Non Government Organisation (NGO) which is registered with the Nepal Government, the Social Welfare Council and Ramechhap District Council (the district where Salme Khola is located).

The Sailung TriNetra initiative is a permanent project that aims to be run predominantly by Nepali management and staff, in cooperation with the Ramechhap District education office.

A fundamental step of this localization process has been appointing a Board of Directors in November 2006. The constitution was signed in Salme Khola. All seven members are Nepali citizens from Salme Khola and the surrounding villages ensuring local communities are represented.
